How do I care for and store composite plates?

  • To keep your ballistic protection effective and to maintain its performance on the job,
proper storage and inspection are required.
  • Because of the harmful nature of UV rays, store your armor in a low humidity area and
away from visible light or direct sunlight. Store your armor away from high temperatures,
    water, and other corrosive substances.
  • Store your armor lying flat without other heavy objects resting on it to avoid warping or
bunching of the ballistic panels. Owners should routinely inspect composite armor
ballistic panels for signs of damage, general cleanliness, unusual worn areas, loosened or
broken fasteners, separated or frayed stitching, or any other damages.
  • To clean your armor plates, use a mild cleaning agent with a soft sponge. We recommend
doing this at least two to four times a year depending on the amount of use. Please ensure
that the panel is dry before placing it back into your plate carrier.
